Madewell’s New Collection Is A Genius Guide To Spring Styling

We know that history is often bound to repeat itself, but perhaps there is no better example than the arrival of the new Madewell lookbook. When it pops up every season, we're not only instantly nipped by the shopping bug, but also overloaded with styling ideas we're ready to attempt. And, the spring '14 lookbook is no exception.

The new designs for Madewell highlight what the brand does best: classic shapes, lots of clashing colors and patterns, tomboy vibes, and an all-over effortless aesthetic. For spring, of course, the brand has debuted plenty of crisp white separates, printed sundresses, slouchy pant silhouettes, and seasonally popular outerwear such as denim and varsity jackets. But, Madewell's (now-not-so-new) lead designer, Somsack Sikhounmuong, really won us over with the styling in the following pictures.

While every piece may have stood out on its own, the pairing of overalls with tuxedo jackets; full, ladylike skirts with rolled-sleeve tees; and baseball hats with everything really help us dream up all the possibilities for our spring wardrobes. After all, a top here or a boyfriend jean there may be killer buys, but Madewell is one brand that provides us with head-to-sandal toe suggestions that really spark our sartorial imagination.
