Siri is throwin' some serious shade.
Spike Jonze's latest film, Her, is the story of a lonely writer who falls in love with an operating system he names Samantha, which is designed to fulfill his every need. Samantha is voiced by Scarlett Johansson's sultry rasp, so it totally makes sense why the writer, played by Joaquin Phoenix, would fall for her artificial intelligence that coos and responds in real time.
Though this operating system does not exist outside the film, many of us have a Samantha of our very own. Our dear Siri serves as our guiding light for subway directions, the week's forecast, and the nearest Chipotle location. She'll even share an opinion on a question or query you might have. But, asking Siri if she is Samantha makes her a little snappy. Siri responds with a short and pithy answer: "No. You know that it's just a movie, right?"
