"I always knew I wanted to be a model, so I decided to have my ears pinned back because they stuck out a bit," she told Net-A-Porter. "I found this doctor in my hometown in Brazil who had only done it once before, so I was the guinea pig." And, yes, it turned out just as scary as it sounds. "The first few nights, it felt like someone had cut off my ears," she said. "For a year, I had to go back for mini-surgeries. Doctors say they can fix them, but plastic surgery freaks me out now."
We don't know what is sadder here: The fact that Ambrosio went through plastic surgery at such a young age, or the fact that she was so worried about her appearance at such a young age. Either way, it's refreshing to hear her speak candidly about a slightly taboo subject. (ABC News)
