Seventeen-year-old Lorde has enjoyed a remarkable year by any pop standard, but she's still down-to-earth enough to indulge her inner Internet nerd upon occasion. To the delight of Reddit users, the "Royals" songstress swooped down on the online forum this afternoon, staging an impromptu "AMA" session. (Ask Me Anything is one of Reddit's most notorious features and has even been utilized by President Obama.) So, ask away the people of the Internet did — and, as you can imagine, it got pretty convoluted fast. Questions ranged from the standard "why are you so cool?" bromides to queries about why the young Kiwi singer is so obsessed with teeth. (See "White Teeth Teens" for context.) That one caught Lorde's selective eye, and she responded, "Just a weird obsession that has been with me always. Ironically, I hate dentists." She showed off her offbeat sense of humor, confessing she knows she "looks like Gollum" when she performs her quirky choreography live but doesn't seem too bothered by it. Just as the pace picked up, it was already time for Lorde to go. She promised North American shows in 2014 and asked for Reddit input on what her next video should be (naturally prompting a massive debate) and then politely wished everyone a Merry Christmas before signing off.
