Well, this might literally be the best news we've heard all day: Prince will appear on an episode of New Girl. Take a minute to let that sink in.

According to Consequence of Sound, the artist formerly known as "the artist formerly known as Prince" happens to be a big fan of the show, so he went all fangirl on the producers and pitched an episode idea around his all-night house parties. Apparently, the singer regularly hosts star-studded parties at his pad — who knew he was such a rager? New Girl producers obviously agreed and have scheduled what we know will be an epic episode following the Super Bowl on February 2. His appearance will mark his sitcom television debut — hey, better late than never, we say.
Seeing as how details are so minimal right now, we've taken it upon ourselves to plan out a potential storyline for the episode. Cece happens to catch Prince's eye at a restaurant and gets invited to his rager, which causes Schmidt to get jealous and ruin everything in good ol' Schmidt form. Naturally, Jess, Nick, Winston, and Ferguson follow the duo to the party and get themselves in all sorts of trouble. Oh, we're also banking on a mini performance of "Purple Rain" and "Breakfast Can Wait." Guess we'll have to wait until February 2 to see what plays out.
