Well, Galliano's Next Move Is Certainly Unexpected

Stephen Fry and John Galliano: Two names you don’t expect to see on the same page, let alone the stage. But, you better get used to seeing these two side-by-side as Galliano has been confirmed as costume designer for Fry’s new stage adaptation of The Importance Of Being Earnest.

The contentious designer is rumoured to have edged out both Roland Mouret and Sarah Burton to the gig — a position Galliano has in fact filled before (he was responsible for dressing the character of Lady Bracknell in the 1982 staging of the play at the National Theatre, featuring Judi Dench in the role). The new play will open next year, and marks Galliano’s first solo project since being dismissed from Dior in 2011. The designer’s slow and steady return to the fashion roost will most likely result in a permanent position at Oscar de la Renta following his “internship” at said fashion house. According to WWD, de la Renta and Galliano “email each other weekly,” and continue to discuss working together in the future.
It's been two years since Galliano’s vile outburst, and while others may be quick to forgive him, we must admit we're surprised to learn that the outspoken Stephen Fry is one of them. What do you think? Does Galliano deserve a second chance? To the comments. (Vogue UK)
