Diamonds: Putting The Radiant In Radiant Orchid

So, let's talk Radiant Orchid. In terms of makeup colors having that wow-factor, this one leaves a lot to be desired. After all, with the multitude of fierce purples we've been seeing this season (hi, violet lipstick), we're hesitant to go back to the subtle lavenders of yore. That being said, when two of Azature's orchid nail polishes landed on our desks, we knew we needed to stop judging Pantone, immediately.
What makes these shades different from all the rest? Diamonds. Literally. Azature is the maker of the world's most expensive nail polish, which retails at a whopping one million big ones, thanks to 98 carats of white diamonds. Luckily, these orchid polishes are for the people and contain dust from a single black diamond. And, perhaps that's what's missing from the rest of the orchid makeup out there — some real-deal radiance. These colors are vibrant and multi-dimensional, not unlike a diamond. Most importantly, though, they make us feel excited that this is Pantone's color of the year.

Also, since one of these shades is solid and the other is glitter, our minds are racing about all the holiday nail possibilities in front of us. What about an ombré orchid mani for New Year's Eve? 2014, here we come.
Azature Nail Lacquer in Violet Diamond and Light Pink Diamond, $25 each, available at HSN.
