What High Street brand do we always turn to for sell-out collaborations with the hottest names in fashion — and music? Why, River Island, of course. Lucky for us, its latest Design Forum spring/summer '14 recruit, Katie Eary, has created an 18-piece collection for the store, set to go on sale February 17.

Explaining the inspiration behind her collection, the British designer said, “My starting point was Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Except in my story, it wasn’t Johnny Depp, it was my muse (the strong woman) on a crazy hallucinatory journey through the desert. I then went on to design looks for her while she was on this journey. It all became very 'Tribal Dipped in Gold.'”
The collection is set to launch via a short film created and directed by filmmaker Kinga Burza at the Fash/On Film event during London Fashion Week in February 2014. Expect animal prints reworked in a flamboyant palette, splashed maxi-dresses, and skirts with thigh-high slits. Other summer essentials include bleached denim shorts, billowing sleeved blouses, and swimwear, with a roundup of accessories completing the collection. Prices range from £15 to £120. Your summer wardrobe checklist? Done!
