December is shaping up to be quite the busy month for Japanese fashion label Comme des Garçons. We're filled with the anticipation for the seven-story, 20,000-square-foot multi-brand retail palace Dover Street Market opening its doors December 21. But, that's not the only treat to look forward to in the coming weeks.
This weekend, the label's CDG Chelsea brick-and-mortar location will close for renovations and will reopen December 19. While there's no word yet on what will transpire inside the space, we're stoked to see what Rei Kawakubo dreams up for the interior. In her hands — the same ones responsible for the label's avant-garde mens- and womenswear designs — the results are sure to be pretty insane. Look out New York: it seems a CDG conquest is in full effect. Check out the reopening of Comme des Garçons New York at 520 West 22nd Street (between West Street and 11th Avenue). We know we'll be there.
