If you haven't seen Catching Fire yet, you better make it a priority this weekend, if not for sake of having something to contribute to the Jennifer Lawrence conversations you're bound to have during all those family dinners. Another reason? Well, obviously, the fashion.
Over the top and truly fantastical, the clothing in The Hunger Games' latest installment is kind of like watching an extended version of a McQueen runway show. Many of the looks are recent McQueen creations, including several pieces from Effie's wardrobe. Perfect for the escort of District 12, the dresses might not be great for real life: Said costume designer Trish Summerville, "Effie wears dresses with an exaggerated hip and exaggerated collar. It's all about her constantly being uncomfortable." Katniss' gowns were mainly the custom creation of Summerville, including a dress made from pressed cork and brass nails as well as a feathered gown with a winged cape.
