Gaga For Versace: A Very Fitting Gig

The most common comparison — valid or not — for Lady Gaga is usually drawn between her and fellow superstar Madonna. But, some late-breaking news from last night suggests that, perhaps, her taste for opulence is more in line with a different kind of icon. Yep, we're talking about Donatella Versace. The luxury brand known for its over-the-top elegance announced Gaga as the new face of the spring/summer 2014 campaign. The photos, shot by Mert and Marcus, show Stef in full hair extensions with bleached eyebrows to match.
Not only is she channeling Donatella with her outfits; it looks like her very face has been contoured into vaguely reminiscent features. Further proof, of course, that Gaga is a true chameleon — even when she's not wearing crazy clown makeup and movement-impairing headwear, she easily slips into characters outside of her own.
Gaga shared another photo of the campaign on Twitter:
This doesn't come as much as a surprise. The rumor has been swirling for a while. As far back as 2011, Gaga was rocking the Versace look, and she even penned an ode to Donatella for ARTPOP. We have to wonder what kind of goods changed hands to make that song happen — because there's no way it was all a coincidence, right?
