When we think of the cities of tomorrow, we always imagine a world of robots, touch-screen everything, and lots of metallic. (We've seen Bladerunner one too many times.) But, thanks to a few architectural projections, our view of the New York City of the future just got much clearer.
The Huffington Post shared 17 renderings of how the Big Apple will change by 2033, and to be honest, it's a little bit eerie. There are multibillion dollar projects going on across Gotham City that will drastically change the skyline, from the skyscrapers surrounding the new World Trade Center to an updated Penn Station and the continued rise of luxury spaces around Williamsburg and Long Island City's 5 Pointz. And, Staten Island will soon be home to the world's largest ferris wheel. While we're all for a little sprucing up, every now and then, we have some mixed feelings about all of the changes. We kind of like the gritty, old NYC we live in, now. Click through to see what New York could look like in 20 years, no time machine necessary. (Huffington Post)
