Growing up as Selena Gomez is not for the faint of heart. Sure, it's sugarcoated with Versace couture, dates with Anna Wintour, and big-name BFFs, but truth, like the old idiom says, is a bitter pill to swallow. If you add on the larger-than-life exploitation Hollywood sets its starlets up for, well, truth is a jawbreaker.

"There's so much truth that I haven't shared yet," Gomez comments in her now fourth Teen Vogue cover interview. After one of her biggest years in terms of her career (not to mention a big one for her fellow Disney Channel peers), Gomez is ready to enter young adulthood. "I'm 21, so now I've entered the decade of confusion about who I am and what I want to do with my life, and that's what this entire decade's going to be."

What that exactly entails is hers to decide. "I was very sheltered until about eighteen or nineteen," she explains. Gomez is in control, though. Her first solo world tour for Stars Dance will round out her first year in the decade of self-awareness. After that? Well, she's following up Spring Breakers with two more movies. What happens in the days and weeks after is as much a mystery to her as it would be for our own lives. One thing is for sure, though: Selena Gomez will go through this period of confusion poised and graceful. (Teen Vogue)

"You fall in love and it completely consumes you. So, a part of you is broken when that's gone. And part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you're just like, forget it — I can do anything I want. I've tried it, and I've never been that girl. I'm always going to be the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night."
