Britney Spears Takes It Down A Notch With New Single “Perfume”

Sia for the win — again! The Aussie behind many of 2013's pop anthems, like Rihanna's "Diamonds" and Rita Ora's "Radioactive," also penned Britney Spears' newest song (and second single) off her upcoming LP Britney Jean.
No, "Perfume" is not an ode to the reigning pop princess' own fragrance line (though expect a healthy dose of product placement in the video). It is, rather, a bubbly track overflowing with insecurity and vengeance. Hey, at least you can dance with tears in your eyes. Thanks, Brit! Feelings on the dance floor are the new confessions on the dance floor, and Spears is hopping on that Robyn train: "I gotta mark my territory / I'll never tell, tell on myself / But I hope she smells my perfume," the singer more or less croons over a minimal synth line.
All in all, it's a solid pop jam — nothing earth-shattering or bass-thumping. It's personal and a nice shift from the banger that is "Work B*tch." Vibe to this before getting down to the former.
