BBM Downloads Defy Expectations, Makes A Big Comeback

It feels like just yesterday when we were tightly clutching our BlackBerry Curves and BBMing our little hearts out. But, as times changed and more smartphones infiltrated the market, we tossed out those "CrackBerries" in lieu of easy-to-operate iPhones. Can you blame us?
While we haven't looked back since, there’s still a pocket of people that unabashedly crave that old school BBMing — a pocket that is five million people deep, to be exact. We previously reported that BlackBerry had plans to launch its much-anticpated BBM app and get this — according to Fast Company, it experienced a wildly impressive, yes, five million downloads within the first eight hours of rebirth. Even with rumors of a Twitter-backed direct messaging system on the horizon, we think that BBM has just catapulted back in the gadget game. Tell us, will you be downloading the app?
