The Cartoon Cat-Eye: What Your Halloween's Been Missing

No matter how much of a Halloween overachiever you are, the right makeup is the cornerstone to the perfect costume. In fact, we think that having next-level makeup can be an entire look on its own (and no, that's not just an excuse for not having our costumes planned yet). It looks like the brilliant folks over at Beautylish are on the same page: With three makeup tutorials that straddle the line between creepy and cool, we're feeling newly motivated to go with our guts and have this year be all about the face paint.

Our favorite look? The cartoon cat-eye. With exaggerated lines, layers upon layers of falsies, and a lime-green eyeshadow that makes the whole thing just pop, this is definitely a DIY to try, immediately. As for that scar how-to? We spend way too much time on our skin care to make it look like we've got an open wound on our cheeks, even if it makes us suck at Halloween.
