As far as we're concerned, on the list of Important Relationship Milestones, dressing up together for Halloween is way, way up there. How can you, in good faith, introduce your parents to somebody who hasn't even proven their support for your devoutness to Justin and Britney? It just wouldn't be right. So, whether you're in a long-term relationship or just getting comfy with someone new, this Halloween is the perfect moment to try out a couples costume. It doesn't have to be weird, or awkward — just awesome.
What's that? You're single? No problem. Any and all of these costumes could work for friends, or even a threesome. Better yet, most of these outfits are timelessly cool enough to to double-duty as Halloween fare and regular wardrobe investments.
Diane & Woody
The fun thing about this costume is you can choose to channel multiple movies. While Woody remains more or less the same throughout, Diane's outfits go from mod-chic to the most easily recognized Annie Hall look.
For Diane: Round sunglasses, oversized trousers, and a suiting vest.
For Woody: Thick, black glasses, high-waisted pants, and at least five neuroses.
Kim & Kanye
The more fashion-forward the outfit, the more interesting this costume becomes. Don't forget to practice your mean mug.
For Kim: A body-con dress of any kind, plus a wig or extensions, and a pale, nude lip.
For Kanye: Leather pants and/or skirt, a shirt with the sleeves rolled up.

Ellen & Portia
If you've been looking for an excuse to cut your hair into an awesome pixie, this is it. The world's most iconic couple houses two very distinct style philosophies, both translating excellently come October 31.
For Ellen: Either a suit with the blouse unbuttoned, or white jeans and a striped man's shirt.
For Portia: A jumpsuit or a sexy-corporate pencil skirt, plus super-high stilettos.

Mick Jagger & David Bowie (and a little Iman, because, why not?)
This isn't an official couple, but it is something that figures prominently in our dreams. And, if you've got two important people in your life demanding to be part of your Halloween festivities, you can always have someone dress up as Bowie's real-life wife, Iman.
For Mick: A shrunken black T-shirt and a leather jacket — collagen injections optional.
For Bowie: Oversized pants, a double-breasted suit, and plenty of hair gel.
For Iman: Big hair, sparkling jewels, and a gown with a plunging neckline.
Sarah Jessica Parker & Robert Downey, Jr.
This is a quintessential '80s couple, not to mention style icons in their own right. While dressing up as they were back in the day with patterned blazers, embossed coats, and hair bows is all well and good, we have another awesome idea in mind: A modern-day "what if"!
For SJP: A Carrie Bradshaw-inspired tutu.
For RDJ: An Iron Man suit.

Justin & Britney
This is a perfect costume for the pair with multiple parties to attend in the month of October. This classic denim-on-denim-on-denim ensemble is obviously the prime costume opportunity, but the fun doesn't end there. America's sweethearts had so many wacky outfits together, you can keep the costume going through multiple iterations for weeks.
For Justin: Fedoras, crusty hair gel, a thick-knit, white turtleneck.
For Britney: Sparkly eyeshadow, bra tops, low-slung flared jeans, and pigtails.

Kate Moss & Johnny Depp
Don't worry, you don't have to be the sexiest people on Earth to pull this off. You just need a few select items — items that are conveniently on-trend this season.
For Kate: Look to her Calvin Klein-era style for inspiration. Simple tank tops or monochrome ensembles, fresh makeup, and hair gelled back and tousled.
For Johnny: Your dad's suit, a scruffy shirt, greasy hair, and a melancholy look.

Lorenzo Martone & Marc Jacobs
Though they're no longer together, this will always be one of fashion's most iconic — not to mention handsome — couples. Finally, an excuse to buy that kilt you always dreamed of!
For Lorenzo: A sharp suit that at least looks very expensive, a bow tie and/or suspenders.
For Marc: Either copy the outfit pictured here directly, or go for the famous lace dress/white boxers ensemble from the 2012 Met Gala.
