Thanks be to Samuel L. Jackson for casually announcing the casting of Elizabeth Olsen in the upcoming Avengers sequel. While The Wall Street Journal kept it cool, calm, and collected when announcing the decision, we read it and freaked out.
"I don't think we begin shooting before March of next year," Jackson said. "I know we're shooting in London, that James Spader is Ultron and going to be the bad guy, and that we added Ms. [Elizabeth] Olsen, but I don't know what she's doing, if she's on the inside or the outside. I haven't seen a script." Oh sir, we don't need anymore information than that to get pumped for this sequel. One of our favorite bad boys and an Olsen? Say no more. The role of the Scarlet Witch has been buzzing through Avenger forums and fanfic sites for a while now, and will continue to as the news is still ripe with uncertainties. The jury's still out on who will play the Witch's mutant brother, Quicksilver, after all. Someone get Olsen on the phone, stat! Perhaps she'll drop a casual casting line, too. (USA Today)
