Looking for a wedding dress is probably one of the most nerve-racking shopping experiences a gal will ever endure — right next to the quest for a flattering swimsuit, that is. And if you're not a sample size (very few of us are), the experience can be downright intimidating. But even with the bevy of bridal boutiques that exist in the city, there aren't a lot of options for curvy gals — until now. Chicago is getting its first plus-size bridal shop this October, and we say it's about darn time.
Haute & Co. founder Shannelle Armstrong-Fowler carefully reviewed hundreds of gowns to curate a collection of fashion-forward plus-size wedding wares (sizes 12 to 28) priced between $2,000 and $6,000. The gorg shop in River North will also carry veils, jewelry, and all the other wedding belles and whistles a bride could ask for.
