It seems as though a new restaurant opens up every week in Chicago, and that's just fine by us. We spent our summer alfresco dining at a picnic table over at Parson's Chicken and Fish, and there isn't a dish at Fat Rice that hasn't curled our toes with pleasure. But we're not here to talk about casual eateries with affordable prices — or new ones, for that matter. If you're not familiar with this monthly list, here's how it works: Each month an evaluation team performs an in-depth analysis of restaurants all over the globe based on criteria such as cuisine, atmosphere, reputation, and expertise. You may want to bookmark this puppy because these tried-and-true favorites have managed to maintain their ranking for several months, so there's definitely something to be said for consistency. And let's face it — the house-made pasta at Spiaggia never gets old.
