Check Out Miley Cyrus’ First Post-VMAs Interview

After Miley's hair-raising performance at last week's VMAs, we've heard opinions from just about everyone. Now, the artist herself is breaking her relative silence on the matter and answering our nagging questions on the twerk heard 'round the world. MTV released an exclusive clip from the filming of a Miley-centric documentary, which proves that Cyrus set out to, well, break the Internet.
"Me and Robin [Thicke] the whole time said, you know we're about to make history right now,'" the singer told the film crew. Of course, make history they did — at least when it comes to giant dancing teddy bears and onstage leotards. And, she's completely aware of the audience reaction and the discussions that ensued. "What's amazing is I think now, we're three days later and people are still talking about it," she said. "You're thinking about it more than I thought about it when I did it. Like, I didn't even think about it 'cause that's just me."
The jury is still out on just how much the controversial performance will affect the star's career, though, she doesn't seem to care about all the backlash. "I don't pay attention to the negative because I've seen this play out so many times," said Cyrus. While we're not exactly the biggest fans of the twerking extravaganza, we have to give her props for fearlessness. After all, blocking out criticism is one of the hardest parts of living in the limelight. (MTV)
