It's Labor Day, which for lipstick lovers is about to mean one thing: The prettiest, strangest lip colors we've ever seen. This lipstick photo shoot from Hunger TV is all about out-of-the-box lip colors that are oddly beautiful. It's rare to see lipstick shades that are both completely new and completely gorgeous, and we'd never thought we'd be saying this about shades of mustard yellow, black, light blue, and more — yet here we are.
Each photo in this feature is stunning in its own right, as the model pulls off various drop-dead amazing, punk-inspired 'dos and dark, spidery lashes. We're amazed at how good all the different shades look on her. Just look at how that black lipstick truly makes her blue eyes sparkle. Is this love?
The accompanying interview with Rachel O’Donnell, senior artist at MAC, is also sufficiently fabulous. When asked what rules to follow when wearing a heavy lip and eye together, she had this nugget of wisdom to say: "The rules tell us to do one or the other – but there’s no fun in sticking with rules.
