Believe it or not, when we're not ogling the Internet or adding to our fall-fashion wish list, many of us at R29 are pretty big tennis fans (some of us even dare to take to the court and actually play). So, we wanted to take a moment and say a big congratulations to one very awesome girl who, yesterday, made some pretty major headlines regarding her performance at the U.S. Open!
Victoria Duval is only 17 years old, but that didn't stop her from beating former champion Samantha Stosur. Granted, it wasn't always a sure thing — the match was tough, and Duval nearly lost with 35 unforced errors. She rallied, though, and our friends who were there say the crowd was notably on her side. She might not have the finesse of a more experienced pro, but we've got high hopes for this lady as the tournament continues. (CBS)
