The Key To Rihanna's VMAs Outfit Is Subtle Yet Beautiful

Aside from sitting around looking bored, Rihanna didn't get a ton of screen time at the VMAs tonight. But when you looked closely, she was — as always — quite beautiful. Whether or not you always love her outfits, you have to admit she clearly puts some thought into her looks. Whether she's designing for River Island or stepping out in next to nothing, she's one of the rare celebrities who really seems to have more going on than just a great stylist (though she probably has that, too).

Last night was no exception. She wore a typically glam-casual ensemble of dark jeans, a T-shirt with the sleeves cut off, and some high-shine jewelry that matched perfectly with her sleek, classic hair and makeup. But the one thing you might not have noticed? A small piece of golden jewelry right between her two (very white) front teeth. It had all the edge and unexpectedness that Miley and Katy Perry have tried to pull off with full grillz, but to much, much greater effect.
