We're firm believers that Daniel Radcliffe — perhaps more than any other Harry Potter star, even our beloved Emma Watson — has the ability to really make it in the acting world. He's already garnered respect for his performance in Equus and though it wasn't a huge hit, he did just fine in 2012's The Woman in Black. This time, we think he's found the perfect fit in a genuinely interesting, must-see movie that will please critics and thrill more mass audiences alike. Kill Your Darlings, which has been buzzed about for a while now, tells the story of a young Allen Ginsberg and also stars Elizabeth Olsen, Ben Foster, Dane DeHaan, and Michael C. Hall, among others.

While it does harken back to the mixed bag of On The Road, we don't get the feeling that this film is banking so much on the draw of a big-name young star. For one thing, Radcliffe — talented as he may be — doesn't have the same kind of box office power as Kristen Stewart, and we hope that for that reason, both his performance and the movie as a whole will be obliged to deliver a bit more than that slightly disappointing flick. And, of course, this one isn't dealing with the immense burden of working with some of American literature's more difficult source material.
