Icona Pop’s Video Ode To Gal Pals Makes Our Hearts Swell

Argh, it's Monday afternoon, ladies — a bit of a bummer, which is why our lovely pals Icona Pop maybe chose today to release their homage to girl BFFs. (Just in case you have any doubt of the authenticity of the closeness between Aino Jawo and Caroline Hjelt, we have seen it in real life and it is palpable how much they adore each other.) A take off of Jay and Bey's "'03 Bonnie And Clyde," the Swedish/London duo go on a girl's outing, break into abandoned train yards, and hop a ride into the wild blue yonder, while proclaiming all they need in this life of sin "is just me and my girlfriend."
Fans of "I Love It" will appreciate the same uptempo pop sensibility that has rocketed the besties to fame — all with the same chanting-as-singing fun. Except, "Girlfriend" is to best gal pals as "I Love It" is a kiss off to guys who hold you back. Girl power Mondays, anyone?
