Meanwhile, on the other side of the pond, Jeffrey Deitch is allegedly resigning from his post as director of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Since accepting the position back in 2010, Deitch's role at MOCA has caused not a small amount of drama, as well the resignation of some very notable members of the museum's board (including artists Ed Ruscha and John Baldessari). Though considerably upping the museum's celeb clientele, Deitch's reign was also a time when MOCA's financial woes increased to unsettling numbers.
Whether Deitch was compelled to leave, or if the decision was the result of others pushing him out is not yet clear to the public. But, if the rumors are true, it looks like New York better start planning a "Welcome Back" party for its prodigal son. [LA Weekly]
