Locavores, Rejoice! Farm-To-Table Dining Gets A Restaurant Week

eatlocalslide
Sometimes, we love this city so much we could eat it up — and Farm-to-Table Restaurant Week is the closest we can get to doing just that. Now through Sunday, some 30-plus restaurants, including Founding Farmers, Restaurant Nora, and Graffiato, are offering up special menus that celebrate food and drinks sourced and created in the D.C. area.
But there's more: On Wednesday, head to Heurich House Museum to meet three Washington women leading the local food movement. The trio will compete for your vote, and ultimately, one will win $1,000 towards her food project. On Friday, you can get some green-thumb inspiration with a tour of historic Bloomingdale’s best gardens, ranging from backyard, balcony, and rooftop spaces to community plots. Or you could start the weekend early Thursday with some amazing brews at Meridian Pint's happy hour, which will feature foraged cask ales from nearby breweries (with ingredients that could be scrounged up right here in the District). Finally, carry on the food festivities on Saturday during Union Market's Farm-to-Street Party, where there will be plenty of tasty goodies to unearth. Click over to Eat Local First for details on the bountiful week ahead, including a full list of participating restaurants. Bon appetit!
