Cameron Diaz Takes On A 2nd Job, Named Pour La Victoire Art Director

When fashion labels sign on a celebrity business partner, we tend to have an initial eye-raising — sometimes eye-rolling — reaction. Maybe it's the skeptics in us, or maybe it's because we've seen plenty celebrity partnerships gone awry (and some gone wonderful, don't get us wrong). But, despite our involuntary first response, we like to see what these actors, and their love of fashion, can truly bring to the table besides just their name. The latest colllab of this kind: Cameron Diaz for Pour La Victoire.
As WWD reports today, the actress has been welcomed to the team and will be lending her hand and influence in the creative, merchandising, marketing, and advertising aspects of the brand. And, while Diaz has no previous fashion experience, the New York label does not want you to confuse this with just another celebrity endorsement. She is here to work with, not just wear, the goods.

The first collection for Diaz will premiere next spring; however, Pour La Victoire will initiate a "Cameron’s Picks" curation for the holiday. Sound like a celeb endorsement? Well, we think Diaz deserves a real chance to show that she's got the fashion and business chops to back it up. Perhaps there truly is something about Mary Cameron that can help elevate the accessory line to a new level of success and innovation. (WWD)
