While the exhibit features artists you're likely familiar with (Andy Warhol and Richard Prince, for example), The Cat Show also showcases some lesser-knowns, like Siobhan Meow and John Hiltunen. Organized by art critic Rhonda Lieberman with White Columns director Matthew Higgs, the exhibit is an example of just how much cats have managed to become part and parcel of the way we choose to express ourselves. But if you just appreciate them for, like, petting, at the center of it all, there's a cat habitat with live kittens on the weekends. And yes, these furballs are all up for adoption. Though we imagine not for very long. (NY Times)
