Altuzarra Will Rep The U.S.A. In The ’14 International Woolmark Prize

Bibhu Mohapatra, Creatures of the Wind, Daniel Vosovic, Timo Weiland, Tucker, Wes Gordon, and more went head-to-head last night to compete for the U.S.A. nomination for the 2014 International Woolmark Prize, but the designer on top turned out to be Joseph Altuzarra. What does the deserving winner receive? Bragging rights, for one, but also the chance to participate in the international competition come next February in Milan and $100,000 to use toward his next collection (which basically means his next NYC spring '14 collection is definitely not one to sleep through).
The other four international finalists from Europe, India, Asia, and Australia will compete for $100,00 Australian dollars via a capsule collection made from merino wool, the winning collection of which will be made available in retailers around the world. Congrats, Joseph! Projecting warm fuzzies (of both types!) toward your direction! (WWD)
