You probably know Candice Swanepoel as a gorgeous, honey-blonde Victoria's Secret model with a certain pouty-lipped expression that never fails to catch the eye. She's still a VS model, she's still got that coy smile, so you'd think a slight change in hair color — from honey to platinum — wouldn't make much of a difference, right?
Well, turns out, it makes all the difference. Swanepoel debuted the look at the amfAR Inspiration Gala in NYC earlier this week, and we're actually quite impressed. Icy-platinum blonde experienced a heady heyday a few years back, but since then, we haven't given the tone much thought. That said, this new 'do might be the perfect shade to bring us back on board!
Of course, she owes it all to a great colorist somewhere. She's relatively fair, and that can often be a disastrous mix with super-light tones, but this looks like a pretty good match. And while it's clear this color is, shall we say, salon-induced, all-natural isn't really the goal with intense platinum — and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Kudos are also in order for the makeup artist who chose to pair a smoky eye with a natural, nude lip...although we'd love to see how Swanepoel's new look fares with a high-gloss red, too.
