Celebrities are few and far between in our topsy-turvy hills, and now they might be all the more scarce after rapper 2 Chainz’s lethal encounter yesterday — in broad daylight, no less. During a visit to the Green Door marijuana dispensary in SoMa, 2 Chainz was the target of a robbery that quickly turned violent, just shortly before 5 p.m.
According to security camera surveillance, an armed shooter fired shots at the hip hop star (while embarrassingly, the rapper's entourage fled with their tails between their legs) before swiping 2 Chainz's wallet. Not exactly the kind of reaction we'd expect from a "gangsta party".
But, we've got to give props where they're deserved. The "Riot" rapper still hit the stage later that night to perform at KMEL's Summer Jam. And, while we'd be a nervous wreck after such a perilous afternoon, 2 Chainz posted a clip on Vine labeled "Close But Now Cigar," of him puffing away, proving that he couldn't be more chill after the ordeal. Now, we can only wonder if a San Francisco rap song will be in the works. We'll keep our ears to the ground. (Zimbio)
