Some call them post-breakup dresses. Beyoncé calls 'em Freakum Dresses. And now, we can add another term to those naughty little outfits we slip on to turn heads: revenge dresses.
Taking cues from the body-hugging silhouettes that costume designer Jill Ohanneson uses to dress the Hamptons' most conniving females, ABC Studios has just signed a licensing deal with Matchbook Co. to create a line of clothing and accessories inspired by their hit show, Revenge. Matchbook’s Linda Kearns told WWD, "We know that women everywhere feel that the best revenge is a killer look.” The line aims to launch by the holiday season. How convenient, as the holidays are prime-time for breaking up. Ohanneson hopes to expand the line to menswear, lingerie, plus-size collections, and shoes — because revenge doesn't taste as sweet unless it's done in beautiful heels and a heart show-stopping dress.
