We haven't seen a whole lot of Ashlee Simpson lately — but when she stepped out for Monday's opening-night gala of the American Ballet Theatre in NYC, we couldn't look away. Yes, the lace, feathered, backless Alice & Olivia was a sight to be seen, but we're really focused on the hair and makeup situation here. She looks gorgeous. Messy red carpet hair is so hard to achieve, but whoever did hers is clearly a consummate professional. Even her dark roots somehow look chic and refined. That, combined with the emerald Ocnarf Sairutsa earrings and the nailed-it smoky eye? It's pure perfection.
