Michael Kors' designs are known for their ability to appeal to multiple generations with simple shapes, neutral tones, and a certain demure glamour that's never prissy. Sound good to you? Well, expect more of that ineffable combination from his upcoming cosmetics line.
The launch this August will come in the form of three distinct yet harmonious collections: Sexy, Sporty, and Glam. You won't find your usual foundations and concealers; instead, these kits will include lip lacquers, bronzers, after-sun creams, and even self-tanners. Kors took inspiration from his mother and grandmother (who "worshipped at the altar of Elizabeth Taylor"), but he hoped to bring that image into modern times with the infusion of the confidence embodied by the "sporty" character, as portrayed here by Karmen Pedaru. The collection will be available in a year-long exclusive with Macy's in the US, and at Michael Kors stores worldwide. (ELLE UK)
