Must See: Roland Mouret Curates A Breathtaking Photo Exhibition

Roland Mouret, king of the hourglass dress, has curated an exhibition of Norman Parkinson’s photography. It's part of Bath in Fashion 2013, and describing the method he adopted to select the photographs, the designer said this: 'I wasn't looking at the pictures to find a beautiful dress; I wanted to find the woman inside the clothes and her movement.'
Movement is a recurring motif in the iconic photographer’s work. He asked models to run, twirl, and dance – form and physical vitality were all critical in his images.
This is a subject close to the Mouret’s heart as well. As a young man, he took inspiration from Parkinson’s legendary images, which is part of the reason that his signature sculptural tailoring encases the female form like no other. We look forward to seeing his interpretation of this photography legend’s legacy. Well worth the trip to Bath. (The Telegraph)
