Wishful thinking, at least according to a recent survey by Allure . Surveying a total of 2,000 men and women, the poll revealed some harsh truths about how we view the topic of growing old in our modern society.
Some of the most surprising statistics include the fact that women's number one aging fear is sagging skin, George Clooney and Meryl Streep are considered the best in aging celebs (that Streep really does win everything, huh?), and that 70% of Americans are taking proactive and non-invasive measures to fight the signs of aging. Our least favorite finding? That while a man with gray hair is usually considered distinguished, a woman with gray hair is more likely to be associated with the word "old" (tell that to Tavi and Kelly Osbourne). Anybody else starting to get mighty pissed off by this gray hair double standard?
On the upside, 60% of women and 55% of men think sex gets better with age, so at least we have that to look forward to. ( Allure )
