Kate Holmes is really pretty. That's about all the information you can glean from this glimpse of the Allure cover story — though, that's not to say it's not an interesting read. The star has been splashed all over the tabloids in the past year for everything from divorcing Tom Cruise to simply walking down the street — and yet, we still don't know much about her.
The show for her latest Holmes & Yang was far from the press free-for-all one expects for celebrity lines, and while pretty much every possible rumor about her has appeared in print at one point or another, she doesn't want to talk about it. Maybe she's too busy with her sponsorship gig for Bobbi Brown, or her new position as a co-owner of Alterna Haircare, or maybe she just likes her privacy. Either way, she did have a few sweet things to say about the world at large, and an attitude that some of Hollywood's more ego-centric could learn a thing or two from. When asked about her 2013 (read: post-divorce) aspirations, Holmes simply said, "I hope this is a peaceful year for a lot of people in the world. When you look back on the last year, there were a lot of tragedies — Hurricane Sandy, the Connecticut shooting. I...I just hope it's a good year for everyone." Even when the writer kept pressing for details, she went no further than, "a lot of people have gone through a lot of stuff." Very enigmatic, a rare quality in her field. Well, whatever she's up to these days, we wish her the best!
