Budget Masterpieces: Dumbo Art Show Has 27 Pieces For $10 Each!

embedAll art was not created equal — or equally priced. That's especially true during The Armory Show, a contemporary and modern art fair that's one of the most significant annual art events in the city. Jet-setters with a yen for hot new creators are happy to pay top dollar for masterpieces-to-be, but just because you don't have a Black Amex, it doesn't mean you can't get in on the spending spree.

As part of Brooklyn Armory weekend, curator Grayson Cox has put together a group show, Personal Desire Propaganda, that's leveling the art-buying playing field. Indeed, the exhibit will feature the work of 27 different artists, each with 100-edition-print posters for sale at the very reasonable price of just $10. Yes, $10. Opening with a reception this Thursday evening, the gallery space might become more sample sale than art space — either way, though, the pieces will still look like they cost you the big bucks.

Where: Personal Desire Propaganda Group Show, 111 Front Street Galleries, 111 Front Street, (at Adams Street), Suite 208; Brooklyn, no phone.
When: Opening reception Thursday, March 7, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m; Show open through March 30.
