What was the concept behind this shoot?
"There has been a significant Asian influence in fashion recently. And while I had that runway inspiration on my mind, I saw some beautiful pictures by Sofia and Mauro which were shot in Asia. I thought to myself, we have all these locations here in San Francisco — one wouldn’t even know they are not in the far East. I presented the idea to our creative team: Chloe Harris, Jodi Nakatsuka, and Julia Flagg-Leaver, and they loved it. The story also felt right for San Francisco, since the city’s ties with Asia go back to the very start."
