It's been almost three years since we've seen Michelle Williams with long, golden locks. And while we're huge fans of her adorable pixie cut, we're pretty excited to learn that the Oz: The Great and Powerful star is growing her hair out. Williams sat down with E! News yesterday and said she was ready to grow out her mane. "Straight men across the board are not into this hair!" she told Elle UK back in December 2011.
Men, however, are not the reason she's letting her hair down (she's taken after all, and she won him over with the pixie cut). Rather it's her daughter, Matilda — who loved seeing Mom don a wig for Oz — that's her inspiration. Williams cut her hair in 2010 as a tribute to her late partner Heath Ledger, and has kept it short up until now because the middle stage is "insufferable." She's preaching to the choir, there; that awkward stage between short and long is a tricky, miserable undertaking. But lucky for Michelle, she doesn't have any work lined up in the near future, except for working on growing her hair and maybe impatiently tapping her toes....
