Best Look Yet? Anne Hathaway Stuns In ’60s-Inspired Gucci

With Oscar night in the not-so-far-off distance (it's Sunday, by the by), the awards season is swiftly coming to a close. Last night, the stars gathered at the International Ballroom of The Beverly Hilton for the 15th Annual Costume Designers Guild Awards, hosted by Community's Joel McHale. The ceremony, which recognizes and honors TV and film's (often underrated, given how much time we spend thinking about their creations) costume designers. Though the event may not be as publicized as the Oscars, the fashion celebrated on and off the carpet was pretty lovely.
Anne Hathaway, who has recently been doing more avant-garde, dramatic offerings, gave us a youthful refresher in a custom Gucci cocktail dress with a crystal cut-out neckline and open back. Short and spunky, Hathaway seems to have shaken the Fantine-induced gloom she channeled for her Oscar-nominated role. Her '60s-inspired look was amplified by a subtle cat-eye and a neutral makeup palette that didn't distract from the shiny Gucci. The Les Misérables star kept her jewelry simple, opting for Julieri studded earrings and Kwiat bangles. While she rocked her short bob with confidence, it is clearly in the growing-out stage, and the shiny (like, we can see ourselves in her coiff) side-swept hair makes that tricky in-between length look almost enviable. Here's betting the doe-eyed starlet will reign supreme come Sunday night's red-carpet soirée.
