Wait...What? Vogue Endorses Uggs, And 5 Outfits To Go With Them

Without a sponsored tag on the page or any obvious indication that Friday was, in fact, opposite day, Vogue ran a blog entry titled "The Secret's Out: Confessions of Vogue's Ugg Addicts" exposing the names on its masthead that count themselves among dedicated Ugg devotees, and showing off five outfits featuring the boot. With quotes from everyone from senior market editor Grace Coddington to (ex-)contributing editor Andre Leon Talley, the article allows a few staffers to come out of the shearling closet. Gushes Andre, "Once you put an Ugg on, it’s hard to go back to bespoke shoes. They are the best practical shoe—not only because they can handle the slush on sidewalks and curbs while keeping your feet warm, but they’re also easy to accessorize. I have them in ebony, which I call my black tie, and bark brown, and they were specially monogrammed for me in Russian red. I, of course, got carried away and ordered them in triplicates. They’re lined up in my hallway by color, and I rotate them on a daily basis."
The article then continues with five outfits that incorporate the Ugg, from an all-weather lace-up (worn with a $1,195 Michael Kors dress and a Fendi tote) to a short black Ugg (paired with an ethereal Étoile Isabel Marant dress) that'll have you set "whether you're headed to the gym or posing for paparazzi."
