Chloe Moretz has a permanent place on our stars-to-watch list, and, at only 16, she's already caught our eye for her chic, perfectly on-point outfits. She knows what to wear for every event, from black-tie galas to Comic Con, and last night she did it again at the Elle UK Style Awards in a striped Stella McCartney minidress and pointed heels.
In black and white, stripes-on-stripes is often in danger of channeling either O Brother, Where Art Thou? or pretty much any Tim Burton movie, but Moretz's dress has a structural, heavy element to it that makes the jailhouse a distant memory. You might wanna print out this picture and fold it up in your wallet, because after you see her new Carrie remake in theaters, you're going to want something to remind you of when she was just a sweet, stylish young thing.
By the way, can we file this in the evidence folder for why long sleeves are great for red-carpet events? It's such an easy, unexpected way to elevate a dress and give it a trendy twist. After the Grammys, we're definitely longing for this kind of subtle structure that takes a dress from good to great.
