    There was once a time — before Jenna Lyons took the helm — when a J.Crew catalogue was notably free of the frills and frippery we love today. No striped leopard-print blazers with Lulu Frost jewelry, toothpick boyfriend-slouch skinny jeans, tortoiseshell hair clips, and Edie bags. Just good ol' fashioned Americana — chinos, cable-knit sweaters, and models "playing" football. But, despite what you'd think, those khakis didn't sell themselves!
