Kate Mara Breaks Fashion Rules, Wears Bright Yellow In January, Looks Amazing

The high-low hem is a trend that's increasingly contentious these days, but leave it to Kate Mara to prove there's still life left to it. The actress wore a sunny, yellow Dior number with a high neckline and a sexy cutout in the back to the premiere of the new Netflix original series House of Cards (one of the shows on our must-watch list), and despite the fact that we're being regularly blessed with a fresh dusting of snow, these days, she was the brightest belle on the red carpet.

The color is really spot on: It's just on the edge of neon without being too abrasive, and it's perfectly accented by her not-too-flashy bling. We might question the purple box clutch (is someone a Vikings supporter?), but we'll let it slide because she just looks so glowy and lovely, and it's really cheering us up.
