Jennifer Lawrence On That Time She Almost Sniped An Intruder With An Arrow

There are some advantages to playing Katniss Everdeen. Aside from being the "girl on fire," any Katniss hopeful must be pretty proficient in archery, essentially meaning she'd have a built-in security system. You know, in case of intruders.
Explaining her ability to wield a bow and arrow to Vanity Fair in her February cover story, Jennifer Lawrence talks about getting her weapon locked and loaded: "I pulled into my garage and I heard men in my house. And I was like, 'I'm not letting them take my stuff.' I had just gotten back from training, so I had the bow and arrows in the back of my car. I went to my car and I put this quiver on me and I had my bow and I loaded it and I'm walking up the stairs. And I look, and my patio doors were open, and there were guys working right there, and I was like, 'Heyyy, how you doin'?'"
Not quite the feat of Katniss-level danger we were expecting, but Lawrence jokes about how silly it would be if she were to actually fire off an arrow. "That would be the funniest news ever. Katniss Everdeen actually kills someone with a bow and arrow!"

As the actress continues to prove, time and again, she's probably the most hang-out-worthy starlet in all of Hollywood. (Seriously, Jen, if you ever need anyone to get some groceries with or want of company when you're picking up dry-cleaning, email R29. We'll happily send a giddy escort.)
Fan-girl moments aside, here's what we love best. To her, acting, just isn't that big of a deal. “Everybody’s like, ‘How can you remain with a level head?’ And I’m like, ‘Why would I ever get cocky? I’m not saving anybody’s life. There are doctors who save lives and firemen who run into burning buildings. I’m making movies. It’s stupid.’” Well, making movies certainly isn't stupid, especially when you've got a couple of serious critical hits under your belt, but her down-to-earth attitude is much appreciated. Also, that Sophia Loren attitude she is serving in those Ellen Von Unwerth shots? It's a side of her we are definitely into, especially juxtaposed with her girl-next-door, sun-goddess, vacationing-in-the-Hamptons cover. (Vanity Fair)
