A Major NYC Designer Is Headed to LFW (Cue Maniacal Laugh)

When we bragged about London Fashion Week's rising significance, we weren't just tooting our own horns. Sure enough, one of New York Fashion Week's most beloved womenswear designers — not to mention the go-to gal for the likes of Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman, and Christina Hendricks — has announced that she's jumping ship and crossing the pond to show at the LFW fall '13 collections. Suck it, New York.
L'Wren Scott — yes, yes, Mick Jagger's missus — is expected to show her latest batch of womanly wares in London on February 17, though the venue has yet to be revealed.
Rumoured to be in cahoots with Jolie to design the star's wedding gown when she finally ties the knot with Brad Pitt, Scott has traditionally staged intimate presentations in NYC, though she moved to Paris to show her spring '13 collection.
"I liked the idea of not being tied to one place, one time, one format," the designer, who just launched her first fragrance, says. "My brand is now expanding in Europe and showing in London this season feels right. We always move to our own rhythm."
