Women will hold a record 20 Senate seats when the new Congress is sworn in early next year, but 2014 could mean even more fabulous females in the stodgiest house. The possibility we’re most excited about? Ashley Judd.
Yes, we know: This election is barely over and we’re already talking about the next one. But can you blame us for hoping the gorgeous actress, feminist, and philanthropist will challenge Sen. Mitch McConnell to represent her home state?
The Louisville Courier-Journal reports that Judd is one of several names being floated to challenge the Senate minority leader in 2014 – though it’s not even clear whether she’s willing to run (or to move back to Kentucky from Tennessee, where she lives now).
Judd has hinted before at a possible run for office, and she did campaign hard for President Obama. But it's still early. All we know is: If she does run for Senate, she'll have our vote.
